Vitamin c for a flu??????

is taking vitamin c to help with the flu a myth? does it actually do nothing??

im 12 weeks pregnant so not wanting to take any drugs

Once you are down with the flu vitamin C is of no use.

If you take vitamin C every day it will boost your immune system and you will get fewer bouts of flu and they will be less severe.

So really, vitamin C is useful for preventing or reducing the frequency of flu and colds.

Vitamin C helps to support your immune system to help fight off disease. It definately helps. You can pop a tab of airborne into a glass of water any time and get an instant immune boost. Only huge (seriously huge) amounts are bad for you.

I can assure you that vitamin C is not a drug, it is a vitamin and will not harm the baby.

I consumed 5,000 mg of Emergen-C, vitamin C packets
in water today.

I am fighting a cold or flu myself.

Vitamin C can help your body and immune system
fight disease.

That, and I had
some real Chinese chicken soup with
hand-cut noodles, garlic, ginger, and other spices.

Supposedly, chicken soup helps as well.

vitamin c is very beneficial for both you and the baby.
Large doses can do nothing but help both of you.
Vitamin c in large doses will definitely reduce the symptoms and length of the flu.
