Does it do any good to get a flu shot after you've already had the flu for the season?

I just got well after a weeks suffering with the flu. Will I be immune to the flu for the rest of the flu season, as the result, or should I get a flu shot? I surely don't want to go through that suffering again, if it can be helped.

See, the thing about the flu shot is this: They are taking a stab at which strains will be the most prevalent this season. It's not a sure-fire way of staying away from the flu. I am in the medical profession and I got a flu shot, and a month and a half later, I ended up with the flu anyway.

It all depends on how you feel. If it would make you feel better to get the shot, then by all means get it. I don't know that it will help or hurt you in any way.
