Can the flu be transmitted via oral sex?

This is serious question, I would like a professional medical opnion, not smart *** comments.

maybe I should claify.. and the Flu virus be transmitted though bodily fluids other than the mouth, whether a male transfer to a female via sperm or a female transfers bodily fluids to a male other than from her mouth. Tring to be discrete here

close contact as in breathing the same air can transmit the flu

It is possible for you to contract the cold/flu if your partner had the cold/flu when you performed oral sex on him. Both the common cold and the flu are very contagious viral infections, and can be transmitted by any sort of contact between an infected person and someone who is not infected. Therefore, you could have contracted the cold or flu from your partner by simply kissing him, or by him touching any part of your body without washing his hands. If you are worried about getting a common cold or the flu you should avoid contact with infected individuals and try washing your hands regularly.

However, if you are asking if you can contract a STD from your partner just because he has the cold/flu, the answer is no. In order for you to contract a STD from your partner via oral sex, he would have to be infected with the STD. Some STDs can cause flu-like symptoms, so if you think that your partner may have an STD, both you and your partner should get tested.
