Mono? Flu? Something more serious?

Hello

About two or three weeks ago I began to feel really sick with a fever that went up and down, night sweats, fatigue, eyeball pain, sinus pressure and pain etc.

After about a week-week and a half the fever started to subside and I started to feel better. My head still hurt but some antibiotics seemed to clear up what was maybe a sinus infection. My tonsils looked real bad at the begining of the getting sick and those eventually began to hurt also. Antibiotics also seemed to take this away.

I still have a little bit of a sore throat, sometimes get night sweats and wake up very cold with a low temperature. I also feel pretty fatigued and just generally not amazing. I definitely feel better than I had a week or two ago, but I still dont feel back to 100%.

Does this sound like mono? The odd thing is that I never had a cough with this. Does that make it sound like something worse? Would I be feeling worse with a higher fever if it was something more serious?

The symptoms are similar, but only a doctor can test for mono. I had it myself and was down for four weeks...most of the symptoms you described and very fatigued. Took me weeks to regain my strength after that. However, I didn't have any throat problem. A friend of mine had mono with throat problems (swelling) so bad she had to be put on steroids.

Hope you feel better!
