Flu shot month ago and flu now?

Is it possible to get the flu even though I had the flu shot a little over a month ago?

the influenza strain that you were vaccinated against would have put you into the hospital had you contracted it. if you truly feel as if you have "flu" symptoms now and have had them for less than 3 days, see your doctor for antiviral meds which will lessen your symptoms. wash your hands better.

What kind of flu do you have? The flu shot is given for the respiratory flu not the stomach flu, and also if you do get the respiratory flu it is supposed to make it not as bad.

yessss. the flu shot is just a dead or dying form of the flu. its in such a weakened state so your body can fight it and build up anti-bodies against it. soooooo, when you do catch the flu your body will know how to fight it thereby getting you healthy sooner!

Yes it is possible. The flu shot you received was probably for a specific strain of the flu.

They are now saying that there is another strain of the flu that is immune to the flu vaccine. Also if you do get the flu after getting the flu shot, sometimes the shot makes the flu symptoms go away faster.

Nevertheless, I would continue to keep getting your annual flu shot, especially if you're susceptible to respiratory infections, have asthma or a low immune system.

The flu shots given are only for the most virile forms of res priory flu. The killer types.

In my office we all contacted a stomach flu, light fever, pains in abdominal area. but that was All there is to it. No fun though.

The flu shot is for a upper respiratory flu that can result in death. Different thing

According to the doctor in the ER the flu shot that they used this year isn't helping because of the strain that's going around.

Absolutely. The flu shot only protects against a few strains of the flu, there are plenty other strains out there you can get. And it's questionable whether it really does that good of a job with the strains it's supposed to protect you from. The two years I got the shot were the two years I got the flu, so I stay the hell away from that poison.
