Flu shot survey!!!! Those who have had the shot (this season or in the past) only please!?

Hi. I only have a week to complete a science fair project and am pretty sure I want to do it on the effectivness of [common] flu shots. I need at least 100 people to complete this short survey so PLEASE oblige!! Thanx!

2) What is your gender?
3) Have you received the flu shot this season or in any past seasons?
4) Did you get the flu or any flu-like symptoms during THAT season after receiving the shot? If so, approximately how long after you received the shot did you begin having symptoms?
5) Do you believe the flu shot is effective?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had the flu shot only the last 2 years. Never before that.

I'd say I got sick less.

NOBODY gets the flu from the flu shot. That's a false myth. What happens is, some people were already infected when they went in, but hadn't had symptoms yet.
So they get the shot, then start getting sick from the flu they had BEFORE THEY EVEN GOT THE SHOT.
This makes them think they got sick from the shot, but it's not how it works.

Yes, thousands of tests have proven it's effective.
It's irrelevant if people "think" it's not effective, it is, it's been proven in countless studies.
Unlike Alternative Medicine, REAL MEDICAL SCIENCE has to legally prove something works before they can use it.

1). 47
2). Female
3). Yes
4). Yes, first time I got the shot, I was sick a week later with mild symptoms.
5). Yes, I Have gotten the shot for 5 years now and I only got sick once with the first flu shot.

1. Late 50's
2. F
3. This year and for the past 10 years.
4. No sickness this year so far. I did get the flu last year, but not one of the three types covered by the vaccination; a nasal swab was tested by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and proved to be a variant strain. I got it about 4-6 weeks after the original vaccination. It takes approximately 2 weeks for your body to build up antibodies after vaccination. You can still contract the flu until your immune system has the antibodies to defend itself.
No flu the previous years.
5. Yes the shots are effective for minimizing and/or preventing flu symptoms for the three strains that it covers. There are other variant strains however and you can still get bronchitis and/or pneumonia from other viruses.

In past years, I did have the flu shot and did not get the flu or a cold.
The flu shot is very effective. I sure wish that I could have had it for this winter. I'm just getting over another bout of the flu that I have been ill with since Feb 2.
With the flu shot, I generally stay very healthy all year.
