Is it common to have only one swollen lymph node when you have a flu?

I have a runny nose and a sore throat, which equates to a flu i think. But usually when I get these, both my lymph node gets swollen. This time, only my left one has. Is this normal?

a runny nose and sore throat do not equate to the flu. you have a cold, and one swollen lymph gland is common. With the flu, you would be nauseated, have diarrhea, a fever and feel like you were gonna die.
Get some Zicam nasal swabs and use according to package instructions, it really does work to shorten the duration and lessen the severity of the common cold.

I've had only one swollen before.
