How do I get my energy back after having had the flu?

Myself and my oldest son have had our second flu bout, this one being more stomach flu. We now both feel so spent and I cannot even do household tasks without wanting to rest. I just feel so exhausted (not that I don't normally with 4 kids). I have too many kids and chores for this! How do I get my energy back?

Forget the household stuff - who cares if the house is dirty. You need to rest as much as possible when the opportunity arises whether it be naps or going to bed early. Your body heals itself fastest when you rest. Make sure you are eating healthy meals to boost your energy and soon, you will be back to your usual and then you can work on the house.

Nothing will do it suddenly for you; you do have to work back up to full speed. Certainly thick soups or stews will be revitalizing and heartening in the beginning...you don't want to overload your digestive system. Then perhaps later in the day, when you feel stronger, a good dinner. I usually find a nice steak to be the best energy-restorer for me, with plenty of vegetables--potato, maybe some mixed veggies--just to get the best all-around nutrition.

slowly but surely youll get it back ,dont do to much to start with

Do not worry about the housing right now...taking care of you is the main goal. To get energy back drink Power Aid or children's Pedialyte( be careful with to much sugar though, would make you feel sick) something with electrolytes in it...
