I'm really sick. My mom thinks it's the flu, but I don't. I think it's worse. She won't take me to a doctor.

I need help! I have a sore throat, I just started fainting today, fever, chills, muscle aches, headaches and head rushes, dizziness, loss of appetite, throwing up. My mom thinks its the flu, I think it's worse. I keep getting worse and I'm scared!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. All of those signs just sound like the typical flu, except for the fainting. Have you taken your temperature? I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm a nurse on pediatrics and what we watch for in young adults is the diarrhea and throwing up -- just because their bodies are so much smaller than grown adults so they tend to become dehydrated much faster. How long has this been going on? I suggest drinking lots of water and resting... I'm not sure where you live either, but this time of year, there are a lot of viral flus going around right now.. and if it is indeed a viral flu, nothing is going to help you except just to let it "pass" through. If this has been persisting for more than 3-4 days, then I would suggest going to see your doctor, or unless you have a temperature above 101. Otherwise, take some tylenol, drink lots of water and get lots of sleep. I hope you feel better hun!

I am not a doctor, but your symptoms DO sound like the flu. You feel like it is getting worse because it usually does before it gets better. Try to stay in bed, drink lots of fluids and take a fever reducer (Tylenol). Listen to your mother. A good mom usually knows about these things. I am sure she has your best interests at heart.

it could be the flu it does sound like it....if you REALLY feel it is something worse then tell your mother that if she wont take you to doctor than you will call an ambulance to take you to the emergency room
