How do you counteract a fever or flu in its early stages?

bed? water? fruit?

There is no sure fire way to kill the flu. Influenza is a viral infection (like the common cold and HIV) and therefore there is no cure. But if you catch it early, you can help to alleviate the symptoms to a certain degree. Also, a regimen of antibiotics can keep it from becoming something more serious like pneumonia.

Your best bet is to make sure that you are getting plenty of fluids and getting plenty of rest. Drinking lots of Gatorade will help you from becoming dehydrated and that will help with minor aches and pains associated with the flu.

There are also several over the counter medicines that you can take to help you with your symptoms. Look for products that say things like "Flu relief" or "cold and cough". Also, you should read the backs of the products before you buy them. There should be a label headed "Drug facts" and under that there should be a list of active ingredients. Look for products that have these in them: "acetaminophen- (pain reliever/ fever reducer) Chlorpheniramine- (Antihistamine), Dextromethorphan- (cough suppressant) and Phenylephrine (nasal decongestant).

But if you have JUST a fever without the sore throat, runny/ stuffy nose, or headache, a regular tylenol (acetaminophen) will help reduce your fever.

Good luck. I hope you feel better

Chicken broth with garlic cloves. Boil about four cups of broth at a time. Add about 10 smashed garlic cloves and bring to a boil. Refrigerate overnight. The garlic will be soft and edible. Drink about three cups per day for about 10 days. Also add lemon to your water to conteract the garlic aroma.

All of the above with lots of pain pills.

Drink two glasses of orange juice and take one pill (tylenol). and get a really goodnight sleep. You will be fine. And eat good meals.

Whenever i get symptons that will make me sick. I do this and I am fine.

Oh and if you stay up late many nights in a row, that can also weaken your immune system...

Oh and eat plenty of apples and grapes (juice), etc. as well as the orange juice.

Hope this helps :-)
