How do you teal with the stomach flu?

I've had the flu for two days now and I'm trying not to be a baby about it, but ICK! I had to go to the ER yesterday for IV fluids because I couldn't keep anything down. They gave me some Compozine to take home. Now I'm not vomiting, but my stomach is still turning like crazy and has me worried I will be soon... I've had some rice, applesauce, and a bit of sliced turkey today. I can't do toast or crackers because I am wheat intolerant and can't get to the specialty store feeling this bad. Any other thoughts about how to deal with nausea and vomiting would be appreciated!

The best thing you can do for the Nausea & Vomiting is to take the Compazine. This will help settle your stomach. One thing Ihave found helpful is to sniff rubbing alcohol while waiting for the Compazine to work. Keep it up with the bland foods. Maybe try some chicken broth or bullion, sprite or 7UP and gradually increase to scrambled eggs. If you can, get someone to bring you some popcicles. Also, try to take like Advil or Aleve if you can. This should help with the pain you are feeling in your ribs and head from all the vomiting. Even if you ae not able to keep any solid food in, try to at least sip some fluids.

Feel better soon.

Ugh. Sorry, but there's not that much you can do. It just has to run its course. The only thing that helps me with the nausea is to be asleep. You may want to drink some Gatorade to help replenish your electrolytes...it might make you feel a little bit better. Take it easy, even when you feel "well". It's very exhausting and you probably won't be at 100% for a few days.
