My girl has been sick with the flu more than 6 times since Nov. of 2007 is this normal? |
Every month she is sick and sometimes twice a month. She got the flu shot when she was pregnant with our daughter and since Nov. she has been getting quite sick. I would also like to add that last year she didn't get sick with the flu more than 1 time and everytime she goes to the dr. the same thing she will get over it. First off, is there a chance she could be pregnant again? When did she have your daughter...November? she may be run down and lack in important nutrients. the flu shot is for influenza, which is NOT puking, the poops, stomach troubles, etc. Influenza is heavy cough, deep aches, fever, very sick.If your friend has stomach upsets and that's what you are calling the flu, maybe something else is wrong. An allergy to milk can cause, bloating gas, feeling sick to stomach, runny poops. Have you moved recently? Something in different home could be causing it too. Is your daughter in day care? Then, every little thing some other kids have will come on home with your baby. This is often the case when first child is put in Day care or starts preschool. Your girl needs to make sure she is in prime condition to boost immune system. Eat right, daily vitamin, plenty of rest. All these are also a factor. With a baby and possibly a job as well, she may be run down, and stressed. ARE YOU CALLING YOUR WIFE MY GIRL OR ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTER?? SORRY I'M A LITTLE CONFUSED. First of all the flu vaccines since the last two years or so have not been effective. The other thing is that if she has been treated with anti-viral medicines everytime she has had a flu or even more than three times, she may have become resistant to the flu medication. Thirdly, and very importantly, flu virus when the resistance is low is known to cause stomach flu and even cause other complications. If God forbid she had hiv then her flu would not have healed and she would not have recovered. Fourthly, many times influenza is not properly diagnosed. It is common to have the common cold in the crazy winters of Chicago. Few doctors care enough to go into substantial details to differentiate between flu and cold. Cold comes up abruptly and the symptoms differ from those of flu. Fifthly, in case these events are those of recurrent colds or even flu i would suggest she get a chest x-ray done because Tuberculosis which is on the rampant is a good reason to be cause of recurrent colds or even giving flu like symptoms. See your doctor about. And best of luck. |
