Could I have the stomach flu and am I contagious?

Wednesday at work my co-worker came down with the stomach flu - her whole family has had it vomiting and everything - she stayed at work because she wasn't vomiting. Then she came back to work yesterday (Thursday) and said she was seriously nauseaus all night and didn't eat a thing and was still seriously nauseus today (Thursday) but wasn't vomiting so she came to work.
Now last night I was getting really nauseated and couldn't hardly eat. I had some trouble sleeping but was okay and this morning I still feel kind of icky but I'm not vomiting either. Could I have caught her flu - if she had the flu- and I'm just lucky and didn't get the vomiting/diarrhea part? And am I still contagious if I'm only seriously nauseated?

Norovirus is a really common stomache bug that goes aruond this time of year. Typically it is "the stomache flu" which is a type virus. It's possible that yes you did pick it up and maybe you just haven't gotten to the vomitting part? Wendesday was only 2 days ago if thats when you were exposed.

It is extremely contagious, so if I were you i wouldn't go around anyone who is really young or really old. And make sure you wash your hands really well.

I would get to the doctor just incase you are in the begining stages, that way they could give you something that makes you feel better.

Feel better soon!

no you've just got a bad flu, you dont sound contagious, see a doctor or go to your pharmacy and thell them you problems like you told us and the will find the right stuff for you!

yes if you touch somebody's stomach

You probably picked up a flu virus, but by now should not be contagious. Stay away from people, and wash your hands often, to avoid passing the "bug" on.

it doesnt really sound like the stomach flu if u havent been vomitting or having diarrhea, it could be a virus or something.
with the stomach flu it is very instant and will come across with vomitting etc all of a sudden
just to make sure u dont pass it on wash ur hands well or carry some of the hand wash with you at all times =]
feel better
