Do you think bird flu is going to be a pandemic virus in the future?

Do you think bird flu is going to be a pandemic virus in the future?

It could be in places with no medical care.

Probably in some parts of the world,America is cool we have a lot of vaccines stock piled.

H5N1 has already made the leap from poultry to humans on several occasions, luckily it's been contained when this has happened so far. If a virulent strain crossed the species barrier and swapped genes with, say, the human flu virus inside the body making it more contagious, we could be in real trouble. Don't forget HIV came from SIV in apes before spreading like wildfire through people. Also, viruses evolve, the vaccines we're stockpiling now may no be useful if/when it hits. We can scarcely keep up with the flu virus.

The short answer is there's no way of knowing, my guess will be that it's only matter of time but there's nothing we can do about it anyway so you might as well not worry.

No. No a chance. Even if it did, remember that bird flu has claimed only a handfull of humans worldwide. It is more of a media spread phobia. Be calm

The pandemics of influenza that occured in 1918, 1957, and 1968 came from a strain of bird flu that mixed with a strain of human flu. Mostly likely the next pandemic will come the same way, but it won't necessarily be the H5N1 strain.
The vaccine has to be manufactured to match the specific strain or it's no good. For example the seasonal flu vaccine in the US this year.
