Should Government force the Flu Shot on society?

Now mandatory for Kindergarten in NJ. I had a really bad experience the one time I got the shot. The doctor said it was normal, some people have reactions. But forcing children to get a highly controversial vaccine seems wrong. I wonder which pharmaceutical company paid Corzine off?

Absolutely NOT!! It is nothing but a moneymaker and there is absolutely no guarantee that you won`t get the flu!!! They take the 2 prominent viruses from the year before and then randomly pick one they think could hit and inject it into your body!!!! If they can`t grantee 100% people won`t get sick then don`t get the shot!! I think we should let our bodies fight off the flu by itself to build up our own antibodies.We are asking for trouble with super bugs if we keep on with this risky nonsense!!! I also do not trust their word of what exactly they are injecting into everyone. They create a state of panic amongst the seniors and parents with young children and everyone is rolling up their sleeves to get the shot how do we really know what is being injected? Seems like after their shots quite a few seniors become very ill and pass away from flu complications, I worked in a nursing home for 11 years and I saw it first hand.Trust me I wrapped their poor bodies. Now why would so many die if they had the shot to prevent it? I`m thinking it`s the governments way of youthenasia. For there aren`t enough long term care beds available for all the elderly so this handles some of the demand!! Just a thought...In Canada they didn`t have much sucess with picking the so called right ones and are now afraid because people became ill anyways that Canadians will decide not to get the shot next season and take their chances. Let`s hope they do!!! And set a good example for other countries!!

Huh that sucks that's the first I have heard of the flu shot being mandatory anywhere. I don't feel that it is fair because the flu shot you get is never up to date the the current strain of flu virus out there.

No, it should and always should be a choice. I to have had a bad experience with the flu shot, I just take a natural herb once a month for two weeks and the colds have been few and far between. They also do not last for long periods of time like the flu shot does and the cold after that was horrible for me at least.

Pro choice all the way is the best way to go. If you want to cut down on the amounts of colds and flus' wash your hands more often and have hand sanitizers especially in kindergarten classes all preschools should try alternative methods instead of running to the easy and most popular solutions in my opinion.

Hmmm... I'm going to say no. I'm 32 and I've had one flu shot around age 25 and I haven't needed one before then or since so... And no I don't particulary have a great immune system. I think it should be left up to individuals depending on their occupation or chances of exposure (healthcare workers, teachers, etc.)

Mandatory 'anything' is un-American and anti-freedom. The last part of your question pretty much sums it up.

I wish that the govt would insist that Ca children got this shot, as well! Especially, since your children were not charged to get the shot. I see the really terrible flu that CA has, now, would be so much easier to control if the children did get the vaccination. I am a senior who did receive the shot. Those around me have been so ill, yet, I have not. I hate to see the children so very ill.
