Sick with the flu? fever raises at night?

went to the doctor a couple days ago he said i had early signs of the flu (like a cold flu, not a throwing up flu) and said that would explain the slight fever and the symptoms i have been having. i am normally around 97.4 for my normal temperature and all day its been 98.8 and just now it was 99.2. i noticed that tonight is the first night my temperature is higher than it was in the daytime. is this common with the flu? its been hard getting it down but it hasnt been higher than 99.4. everyone in my family has been sick with it lately and i work with customers and kids all day usually so it wouldnt be a surprise having the flu like the doctor said. just wondering how to get the fever down back to my normal temperature and if its normal that it goes up at night? im 19 years of age fyi.

It's normal for the temperature to raise at night if you're suffering from a virus.

go get some rest and get away from the computer and rest your body and mind take some tylenol or medication given to you by your doctor and feel better soon :)

Yes it seems to. I had some kind of bug that caused my temp to go up at night and was fine in the daytime. That was a couple of years ago. Funny thing is I did not have any other Symptoms other than feeling kind of achy, My temp would go up as high as 104 at night. that lasted for a few days. Never did go to the doctor.

when your fever is greater than 102.9, then you can worry. for now, it's fine. your are bundled more at night. drink plenty of fluids, rest, and treat your symptoms.
