Flu can you get re-infected?

Just getting over the flu...still have it, but the worst is over. My gf picked it up from me. Shes about 2-3 days behind... My question is can I get reinfected by her or not? I havent seen her for 3-4 days. Am i cool to do so, or not?>

No. Your body has already created antibodies against it. The reason that people seem to get it year after year is that are many strains of the virus and it mutates.

duh how many times in a life time do you see the same people getting sick with it...

yea and there are different kinds of flus too.. it sucks

a flu virus can reform and mutate, changing from host to host, so its very possible for you to get it again, I wouldnt risk it.

Yes. Wash your hands and stay away from anyone who is sick. Your resistance is low right now and you can pick up illnesses very easily.

Stay away from the gf for few more days. Better safe than sorry.

I don't really know but i'm currently sick by the flu. i got healthy and then the next day it came back.

I don't know the technical answer to this, but I know I had the flu, then my hubby got it and then I re-caught it when he was about 2 days into it. I would stay away for a couple more days...or just drink a ton of OJ and take a multivitamin! =) Good luck!

yes u can catch it all over again

You can be re-infected and very easily at this point. I wouldn't risk it.

Depends on if it mutated or not. The flu vaccine is actually a milder dose of the expected virus... hince why some people get a little sick after the shot. If the expected flu mutates, you may get it again.

yes you can get reinfected by her. I would stay away from her until her flu is gone.

YES. (I work in health care and we have been passing around this flue for a month of two now!)
