Is nausea a common symptom of the flu? I'm sexually active, but don't think I'm pregnant to be getting nausea |
Nausea would just add onto my fever, body aches, headaches, sore throat, etc... You could have the stomach flu (Gastroenteritis), which is also viral (not actually caused by the influenza virus, just shares a common name) and has many of the same symptoms of influenza. You'll need to keep yourself really hydrated especially if you start vomiting or experiencing diarrhea. They say you should wait two hours after diarrhea and four hours after vomiting before you begin to eat or drink. Try taking small sips of water and gradually work up to small amounts -- half a cup or less -- of seven up, ginger ale, or even something like jello. Do this for four to eight hours. If you feel like it, try eating saltine crackers or dry toast. Don't start to eat other solid foods for at least 24 hours. Doing this could make you nauseated again. |
