How can you prevent the stomach flu? Is it airborne? |
I work in a nursing home and I've been around it the past few days, puke and diarrea, we was our hands religiously and use hand sanitizer. One of the other nurses said it isn't airborne and you have to ingest it. But I've heard that you can inhale the virus particals. We are all freaking out cuz we have young kids at home. What can we do to prevent it and does anyone really know whether it's airborne or not? First off, There is no stomach influenza. It's probably gastroenteritis, and no, it isn't usually spread by inhalation, but I would continue to wash my hands alcoholic sanitizer. The stomach flu is usually the result of an intestinal virus. You get it by not washing your hands, or eating or drinking something that is contaminated. As you have noticed, they are highly contageous. Sometimes, they shut down entire cruise ships. ilooked it up its no virus...its a bacteria that overtime needs to come out somewhere and you cant get it from the air...its passed by people who has had it and dont wash there hands or kiss you...yuck vomit mouth |
