How does lysol kill the flu and other viruses?

How can lysol kill the flu and other viruses when viruses can't be killed? They can be destroyed but you can't kill a virus thats never alive to start with.

Lysol contains phenol, which dissolves protein, including the protein coat that encapsulates a virus.

First off you can kill a virus. A virus is a living organism and all living things do eventually die. Lysol can kill the influenza virus and other viruses however only on surfaces and if you let it air dry instead of wiping it off.

You might be thinking of antibodics. Antibodics kill bacteria and not viruses.

Lyson is a chemical that basically eliminates a lot of stuff
