I had the 24 hour flu yesterday but am feeling fine now. Am I contagious to my 1 week old baby?

Yes still contagious. However, your 1 week old still has many natural immunities that stay strong up to six weeks old. But there is a possibilty baby can get it. Wash your hands frequently, No kisses to to hands or face for a few more days. Watch baby for any symptoms and due to the young age call MD right away if symptoms appear cause dehydration can be devastating to an infant.

I would venture to say that you are no longer contagious. But to be on the safe side, no kissing for a couple of days and always wash your hands before and after handling the baby.

You are most likely not. Gastroenteritis (or as you colloquialy called it, 24 hour flu) usually only lasts 24 hours. This means 2 things.
1)It MAY last LONGER than 24 hours
2)It may last less than 24 hours

Seeing as you may still be contagious, follow these tips to keep your baby healthy.
NOTE: These are prevention tips accorded to you鈥攖hey were copied and pasted from a website(http://www.mayoclinic.com). The principles are the same for someone else, just not the wording.

鈾ash your hands thoroughly. And make sure your children do, too. If your children are older, teach them to wash their hands, especially after using the bathroom. It's best to use warm water and soap and to rub hands vigorously for at least 20 seconds, remembering to wash around cuticles, beneath fingernails and in the creases of the hands. Then rinse thoroughly. Carry towelettes for times when soap and water aren't available.

鈾se separate personal items around your home. Avoid sharing eating utensils, glasses and plates. Use separate towels in the bathroom.

鈾eep your distance. Avoid close contact with anyone who has the virus, if possible.

鈾heck out your child care center. Make sure the center has separate rooms for changing diapers and preparing or serving food. The room with the diaper-changing table should have a sink as well as a sanitary way to dispose of diapers.
