Gum Bleeding after Flu?

Hi, can you give me some advices?
I was very sick due to flu for several days and now suddenly I am facing bleeding gum(only one tooth) when I floss. It is also swollen. It is scary because I never had gum problem before.
Can flu give bad effect on gums, too? Then now what should I do? I just brush, floss more often.
Is it enough, or should I visit dentist? Thank you for your help.

When you get the flu your body lowers its protection against other bugs it also drys you out considerably its quite possible you gums where just fragile after being a bit dry for a while and they may have split while you where flossing or Even just on there own. If its not causing you any pain i suggest that you just keep an eye on it for a little while and it should heal up fine. if you are in pain however it might be that your tooth has gone rotten underneath and has died, in that case you should see your dentist asap to prevent risk of infection

Phoenix is right on, but more can be said. Vitamin C may be helpful for you as well. Continue to brush at least twice daily and floss once a day. Consider also using an antiseptic mouthwash like Scope or Listerine or generic. Aspirin and Ibuprofen may make bleeds a bit worse so avoid those for day to day aches and pains for a bit.

Keep smiling!
