Why does one get the flu shot in October (at least I did) when the flu season begins in December? your body needs time to create antibodies (the reason you have it for a while if you catch it). the antibodies are the reason you get the shot in the first place. the flu infection starts in september,so this month u should prepare urself with anti flu medicine"injection".this medicine takes one month at least to be ready to protect ur body. welll a flu shot only lasts a certain amount of time thats why your supposed to get it every year...you can get it basicly and time before december but not too early...like october or november When you get the injection, you get either dead or living cells of that virus and that gives your body time to develop an antibody. That's also why sometimes after getting the shot you may develop symptoms or the actual flu itself. Better to be ready? It doesn't run out after a certain time period. |
