Flu and stroke symptoms, but doctors have no answer? |
My friend was having severe flu symptoms last week, vomited several times and felt really weak. She started severely freaking out about small things, which isn't like her. She was taken to the hospital 3 days ago and while sitting in the waiting room of the ER, tried to speak, but couldn't. The left side of her face drooped and she tried to tell them that her left arm hurt. They said that she had symptoms of a stroke, but they don't think she had a stroke. The day after she was admitted, she needed to use the restroom, so we took her, and since the IV was in her right hand, we told her to use her left, but it was like she was unaware that she had a left hand, as if she didn't know what to do with it. She still can't speak, and they have her so heavily medicated now that she's unconscious. But she still moves a lot so they can't do an MRI. The doctor said it may be a bacterial infection, but that's all they've been able to tell us. Has anyone heard of anything like this before? menigitisis its actually really scary, its an infection in your brain although if caught early enough it is curable with one dose of antibodics. this is probally why they are being secreative because they dont want to scare you idk no....they have to do a cat scan or MRI. Something is definitely up neurologically. If they have to...they can sedate her in some way but someone should enforce the testing being done... those do sound like stroke symptoms.she could have had one from the stress of being sick either physical or mental stress....mais, also I have found in severe depression lots of neurological dysfunctions.. like mobility and the inability to speak and eyes twitching...or yeah meningitis...but they should be able to tell you that Bacterial Meningitis? |
