Advice on how to get over the flu?

I started feeling sick last Saturday and have been all week. High fever, chills, headache, congestion, cough keeping me up at night, runny nose etc.My fiance bought me tylenol cold sinus, ibuprofen, cough syrup, head on for headaches and anything else I need.

Any advice on how to beat this?

***My best friend is planning on visiting me on Friday (I have to disinfect and clean the house) and I want to be much better by then so we can have a good time and I am planning to travel back home (NJ) with him for my sis's surgery. I am excited but I know I have to be all better for these events.

thanks!

Stay away from the over the counter cough syrups as they are dangerous. For your fever if it is over 102F take one Tylenol with one Ibuprofen 500mg. Do not take cold showers, only very hot showers.

Recommend that you drink lots of fluids and chicken noodle soup and plenty of rest.
