What's most likely the cause of my sore throat? No fever, and already had the flu this year?

I started getting a sore throat this past Tuesday. Then on Wednesday I developed a dry cough. Then today the coughing continued but now with mucus and a little yucky stuff coming up. All the while no fever or headache. Today I thought I felt chills at work, but it might have just been the air conditioning, cause after I left I did'nt have them. I already had the flu once this year for a week in February. And I've read strep throat does'nt produce a cough. So what is it, tonsilitis, laryngitis??? Besides the sore throat and coughing I feel fine. Thanks

If you look in the mirror and see your tonsils swelled and white or yellow spots you could have tonsilitis my daughter had the same thing recently and I took her to see the doc and she was put on antibiotics. Either way you should see a doctor you don't want to let that go for too long you never know what other symtoms may came up even if you don't feel it's too serious.

it could be 'post nasal drip' which is mucous that starts in the nasal passage/sinus then drips down the back of your throat. at times is not enough for you to notice like a 'lugi' would be noticed but it can be enough to irritate your throat. the cough can come from the irritation of the throat...your body saying 'hey something is wrong here' --this is mostly seen in allergies. try an antihistamine. you could do benadryl at night since it makes you drowsy or the over the counter claritin or zyrtec that claim to be non drowsy. try for a few nights to see how you feel. you wouldn't have to continue it unless the symptoms returned. good luck!

it could be a cold or even allergies. allergies can make you feel like you're sick when you're not.

go to the dr and ask him whats goping on with ur throat.
