Worst flu experience?

what is your most horrible stomach flu moments. or any moments that involve puking. (now that i think about it, that was a gross question)

Ugh, my worst flu was when I went through basic training a few years back. I was sick for 2 months, almost the whole thing, I got sick about 2 weeks in (toward the end of October). I went to the infirmary on a Sunday morning with a 104 fever, BP was152/105 and pulse was 125. The nurse looked at the computer readout then at me back to the readout then at me again and said "DON'T MOVE!" I promised her that I had no will to move and she brought back tylenol and hospital kool-aid. I think I only spent 3 days in the infirmary because I really wanted to get back so I could qualify.

After the flu itself broke, I was still left with nasty cold/flu symptoms. Even though I was doing A LOT of physical activity, I was just never hungry every time we went to chow, so I barely ate anything. and I had a hacking cough (thanks to the bronchitis that came with this flu) that kept me from sleeping more than a couple hours each night. The only way I got any sleep through the coughing fits was by pushing the bunk up against the wall locker and propping myself completely upright using my pillow and extra blanket. And this was after using robitussin and an inhaler. It was so bad I would throw up anything I did manage to eat. Eventually I just had to learn to swallow it. A. Because it was better than running our of formation several times a day, (no way was I going to do that!) and B. It was for my own survival. I lost so much weight because of that, my bones stuck out for the first time. To this day, I'm surprised I made it through: flu that put me at death's door, almost no food, almost no sleep, bronchitis, plus all of the regular basic training stresses. Guess I'm just stubborn. Or too dumb to know when to quit... Either way!

Ah, basic training. Good times.... ;op

My grandfather died on Thanksgiving Day when I was home from college my senior year. At his funeral I started feeling very queasy but made it through the service. We went back to my grandparents' house and I begged my brother to drive me home. As soon as the car pulled into our driveway, I jumped out and ran to the bathroom where I threw up everything I had eaten for the past week, passed out, and slammed my head on the floor. My aunt and uncle came over and sat around drinking beer and laughing, but they did check on me every once in a while to see if I needed anything (they weren't related to my grandfather and didn't go to the funeral).

When I went back to school I had a relapse. After almost breaking my neck on a throw rug while racing to the bathroom to hurl every five minutes, I put the rug next to the toilet and slept there. I was so sick I was afraid I would die and then I was afraid I wouldn't.

The worst puking experience I had was when I was in the hospital with salmonella poisoning. I hadn't eaten anything in weeks so they decided to start me back on foods gradually. A nurse brought me some crackers and I ate a few but they got stuck halfway down. No matter how much water I drank, those crackers weren't going anywhere. About two hours later they made a reappearance in a violent way. I probably set a world distance record for cracker hurling; some of them cleared the foot of the bed. I'm surprised I didn't throw up an intestine or two while I was at it. It was all very disgusting, and they didn't give me anything more to eat until the next day.

For just a flu, my friend was out for 3 days while I took care of her, but she didn't have anything serious that we knew of, but she would talk while she slept with her eyes fully opened like she was delusional, and not remember. It was crazy, so I don't if that counts as a flu or something serious that just healed it self

The worst is puking every hour for almost 12 hours straight, and then you have the dry heaves, or worse stomach bile is coming up (that is the nastiest ever).

when i had to miss the jonas brothers concert because of it
