I'm 10 and i need to get a flu shot tomorrow. Very needle-phobic...help!? Give yourself a pep talk and close your eyes. Also tell the doctor not to give you a warning before you get the shot. When your eyes are closed she will put it in you...that way you wont see it. Make sure you dont look at it. It isnt the pain that will bother you, its just the working yourself up. Nobody likes needles, but it doesnt hurt and only last a secound. Try to relax and dont get to over worked about it. :) Don't watch it. What I do is look the other way and stare at something else in the room. It never really hurts either and I am always surprised. The more you get shots in life the easier it will be. I'm scared of needles too, sometimes I feint. So I ask to lie down while they give me the shot. I look away, and wiggle my toes and fingers. Remember to keep breathing. I used to be scared of needles, but then I started watching them when they stick it in. I am now a very reliable blood donor Ten year olds aren't permitted on this website. |
