Is there a strain of flu or something like it going around right now?

I started running a fever of about 102 in the evenings and overnight, no real aches or pains, a slight cough, and a slightly sick stomach. It is 98 degrees here, so am wondering is this is some sort of "summer flu"?

It's allergy season, so more than likely, you're allergen overloaded. I run fever sometimes when my allergies are horribly bad. Flu can also hit any time of year. I do know that salmonella outbreaks are occurring all over, and rotavirus is going around in many places, but if you have either one of those you'll know it very soon. You'll be sitting on the toilet with your head held over a trashcan.
