Can your nerves cause you to have similar symptoms to the flu?

I have had some major issues with my husband and am really stressed out. I have been having some stomach issues ever since and cannot seem to get rid of them. I have diareahhah and even after taking Immodium it will not go away fully. I do not feel sick, just very nervous and axious. Please help

Yup. Anxiety and/or loads of stress can cause lack of appetite, diarrhea, headaches, upset stomach, fatigue, muscle tension/aches, even a weak immune system.

A weakened immune system can make a person more susceptible to illness like colds or food poisoning that a person's natural defenses would normally be able to fight. Also, a stress-compromised immune system can make a person more susceptible to bacterial infections in the stomach's epithelial layers (ulcers).

Until I started dealing with my anxiety, I would often "worry myself sick". Try (as hard as it might be) to eat healthy - this will make you feel better and, thus, give you energy to deal with relationship problems. (It's a vicious cycle...)

Your nerves can do very strange things to you. I know as I deal with it on a daily basis and was prescribed Xanax for them and the anxiety. Sometimes you can feel like you're going nuts but the medication helps calm you down. It is addictive but taken in smaller doses it can help tremenously and can stop when you want unless it's high doses on long term. The best of health to you and wish the the very best in resolving this issue.

stress will do that to you. it can cause the diarrhea, vomiting, hives, insomnia and menstrual issues. try to find someway to relax. even if it's just for 15 minutes. good luck to you.

stress can cause head aches, aches, tiredness, and sometime cause you to throw up
