I have been in bed with a Flu Virus for 7days now, is this Normal? |
Firstly I was having Hot and cold Fevers, then ever since I have felt major Nausia. After three days , I went to a Doctor, and now take antibiotics plus painkillers, but I am not feeling well yet. Can anyone explain to me, why is it taking sooo long to feel well again? The Doctor Definetly told me I had a Virus (without any blood tests), and then prescribed me these...... medications : Metoclopramide and Roxithromycin. Maybe the side effects are what make me feel Nausia? If you have the true flu, not just a bad cold you would be sick for a few weeks. I was sick for a few weeks with the flu and couldnt get out of bed I felt so shocking one of the worst I have ever felt.. I think you just have the flu.. My opinion is when you get sick yes you have cought something but I tihnk it is also your bodys way of telling you it needs rest. Dont force it you will feel better when your body is ready.. Hope you have someone nice to take care of you and make you chicken soup lol Um, why are you taking antibiotics? Did you bully your doctor into giving them to you, or do you really have something else? Your reaction to the flu virus is normal. Some people recover faster than others. (For instance the duration of recovery might depends on how was your health before you have contacted the virus). Don't worry, give time to your body to recover, drink plenty of liquid, try to eat and I don't know why you need to take medications but nausea can be a side effect of antibiotics. I agree with the above answer, antibiotics do not fix viruses. Either you just have bacterial infection of some sort and have just phrased your question incorrectly (blame it on being sick! haha) or you will need a new Dr. Throwing antibiotics at everything does more harm than good. Ask for a blood test if you are still not feeling any better in a few days. You didn't say how long you've been taking the antibiotics for. I think it should take generally about 48 hrs for you to have a consistence for medication in your system. and you should start to feel a bit better after that. i reckon give it four days and if you're still not well go back to the doctors. This is your body killing up all the germs and things in your body. Sometimes it can just take a while, don't worry there is nothing wrong with you. After a while everybody will get sick and most of the time your body is healing itself. Yet again don't stress it it is just a way of life. come on you ought to have a blood test first.............but viral fever does keep you in bed for a fortnight or so |
