Are you getting a flu shot this year? Why or why not?

Are you getting a flu shot this year? Why or why not?

Yes, this year and every year. I am a diabetic and asthmatic and if I get sick, it screws my blood sugar levels up bad. I have ended up with the flu going into pneumonia and ending up in the hospital because it affected my asthma so bad. It can also cause complications in a diabetic. Getting a flu shot does not keep you from getting the flu, but it can greatly lessen the severity of it and have fewer complications, and a shorter illness....

Yes!

Just like Mamma Smurf, I am also diabetic and asthmatic. If I were to get the flu I have a higher risk of serious complications because of these two conditions.

I am also getting it because I want to decrease the chance that I might spread the flu to other more vulnerbale people (including my elderly parents/grandparents and infants and toddlers all who are at greater risk of the flu becoming more serious.

Yes, I will be getting one b/c I am an RN and I can get one free at work. I wouldn't want to get sick from one of my patients! I got one last year and didn't get the flu, so hopefully it will be the same this year. Although my hubby got a flu shot last year and then he got a different strain of the flu anyway!! But I wash my hands all the time so I didn't get the flu from him.

Heck no! there are so many people who still get sick after having the vaccine (it's not guaranteed that you will not get it) and the vaccine contains mercury which is basically poison.

The way I see it, I am just going to keep my immune system strong and hope for the best.It has worked for years already and the worse sickness I get is a minor cold.

(but I also have no serious health issues that could put me at risk if I do get it)

No. Every time I have had the flu shot, I have developed a new serious allergy to something else. Last flu shot, I became allergic to soft fruit, and went into anaphylactic shock eating a few cherries.

No.
I always get a letter from my doctor offering me a free one (I have asthma... and in the UK they offer you a free one if you have asthma or other things...) but I never get one...

No, my doctor told me not to get one. He said that because I have Multiple Sclerosis that I shouldn't get it.
