The new 'once in a lifetime' flu jab? |
Have you heard in the news about a new 'super' vaccine that is once a lifetime jab (not annual)? They are working on it, it hasn't happened yet! Ignoring the fact that this vaccine is in development, and only a fraction of medicines ever reach the point of being in active use, currently, you are not in the flu vaccine risk group anyway. Just to correct a misconception: they don't give vaccines to people who are already infected. Vaccines are to PREVENT infection in the first place. They are not a treatment. You only have jabs so young if you are in an "at risk" group - I'd say you are young & healthy & would only need a jab if you caught a particularly bad strain. |
