No, the flu shot does not cause you to get canker sores, get the flu or a cold. The only thing the flu shot may do as far as having side effects, is possibly cause a slight fever and some slight muscles aches...most people have no reaction at all. And any vaccine of any kind can cause a slight fever. The flu shot does not make you get sick. Although they are not really sure about what actually does cause a canker sore, they can be caused by stress, damage to the tissue itself, eating acidic foods, (strawberry, lemons etc.). They can also be caused when your immune system is very low. But flu vaccine is not one of the things that causes a canker sore......

There are several mouthwashes that can help 鈥?look for one without alcohol. Even if you don鈥檛 have any of those treatments, you can rinse your mouth with warm salted water several times a day. It is gross, but it will help.

Based on my own personal experience, flu shots do have an affect on the incidence of canker sores. I thought I had them under control, getting them only once or twice a year, but since getting a flu shot several weeks ago, I have had three. I would rather have the flu.

NO, the flu shot cannot cause anything other than to get your immune system to produce antibodies to the protiens it carries. There is absolutely NOTHING in it that can cause any kind of illness.
