Why have I lost my sense of taste and appetite during my flu? first 3 answers are pure crap lmao. people really know nothing these days.... The main reason is that your body is fighting off the virus itself, your sinuses are clogged muus also messes with your taste buds. Also if you are taking any kind of medicine for the flu they mess with your taste buds. Not being hungry also has to do with the work your body is doing to rid your body of the flu. the best thing for the flu is this over the counter medicine called osti(something) it has a long wierd name but it really helps!! Well your sinuses are all screwed up...have you ever held your breath and tried to taste something?? Doesnt work too well--its the same idea here. As far as loss of appetite your stomach is probably upset trying to get rid of the virus. taste cause your nose has a large part in how you taste and now your nose is stuffed up. Appetie cause, well, if you vomit you really don't want to eat again. Taste and therefore appetite are closely related to sense of smell; with a cold or flu you have a stuffy nose and can't smell food as well. What Kayla said. You can "lose" your sense of taste if you have the cold too because of the sinuses issues. its all apart of getting the flu sometimes Cause you didn't get your flu shot. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW? |

They also make the flu vaccine a year in advance and try to guess in an educated way what strains ... Flu is a virus and cannot be treated.. You can treat some of the symptoms such as taking aspirin for pain & decongestants for stuffiness but that is about it... You can't do anything a... No you can't because your immune system is already compromised and your white blood cells are fighting whatever it is you have. If you got the shot, you white blood cells will not tolerate it... |
