Does this sound like pneumonia or the flu?

I have only just recovered from a three week long cough, but now I'm ill again from nowhere with similar symptoms as before. It might just be the flu but it showed no signs of happening, it just suddenly came one morning when I woke up.
I have asthma anyway so I've always had a short breath, but since I've fallen sick again I'm now coughing and sneezing while feeling very hot one second and very cold the next.

What do you think the problem is? (And yes, I will be going to the doctor soon)

Without a chest x-ray, there is no way to tell the difference. Most of the symptoms are the same and you can have fevers with both viral and bacterial infections If you take asthma medications, I would be using them regularly while you wait to get into your physician and tylenol or ibuprofen for the possible intermittent fevers (feeling hot then cold) and resting as much as possible. Running a humidifier in the bedroom where you sleep and increasing your water intake both will help reduce the amount of coughing that you do.

I have recently had pneumonia, and it is not fun. You will have a fever for about a week, I first thought it was the flu. You will cough up alot of phlegm, and coughing happens alot. Also, when you breath it may tickle a little or you may experience shortness in your breaths. Go to the doctor, they will simply check your breathing, and if they believe you have pneumonia you wil go on antibiotics for 4-5 days. They may also want a chest x-ray, but I doubt it.
Also, when I had it, I felt freezing so I used more sheets, then I felt very hot. It stinks.
Plus, ciggarate smoke causes Asmtha and Pneumonioa. So if you around smokers try to stay away :)
