Is it okay to go to the pool with the swine flu in my state?

Like i would suspect that the chlorine from the pool water will stop the germs and what not but idk... Im wondering if i can go to the pool today or tommorow ( its my neighborhoods pool) (quite clean i must add)

Well, here is the thing!!!!!

Yes and No!!!!!!

Yes, the posibilities that there is someone with the H1V1 on your area are very low at the time. So rest assure that as long as you make sure your cleaning your face when you get out of the water try not to swallow pool water. And be as clean as posible. You'll be fine.

And No, the common flu in treated waters such as pool waters dies in minutes. Less than 30 minutes but more can stay alive for more than 10 minutes. The H1V1 flu is known to be more persistent but just as danngerous. Stayinng in the water while someone with the virus is in the water can get you infected. Not probable but posible. Plus, the common cold is mostly catched by going into cold waters, and that might get you sick too. But not much to worry there. So keep that in mind!!!

The only reason you have to worry is if there is a case very close to your area. Like your neighboor, the mailman, ETC. Very close to you!!!!!

Now if it's a private pool!!!!!! By that I mean a House pool.
Go ahead!!!!!!! No problem there. Really as long as the owners don't allow many people in it.

But if it's a public pool. Ah well take my advice from the top.
Yes and No!!!!!

Swine flu is an airborne virus, so I don't think the chlorine in the pool would help protect you from it. Just as long as no one at the pool has it, you should be fine. =)

go ahead, be sure someone in that neighbor's house hasn't had the swine flu.

check for your self http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/

i would say NO, its hard to explain,
