What is the difference between the swine flu and a regular flu?

so y is the media makeing a big deal of it if its the same?

H1N1 Influenza is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. Swine flu viruses have been reported to spread from person-to-person, but in the past, this transmission was limited and not sustained beyond three people. The symptoms of H1N1 flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with H1N1 flu. In the past, severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with H1N1 flu infection in people. Like seasonal flu, H1N1 flu may cause a worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.

Around 36000 Americans die each year of regular flu.
This new influenza is so dangerous because we do not know much about it. As I write this, scientists are discovering new things. We aren't sure if it will worsen and become stronger. Keep in mind, it will not kill everyone though America is prepared for more deaths. As long as you see your doctor and take care of yourself, you will be just fine.

They are exactly the same. People are just making a big fuss over it , do to the fact well..A) its being spread from another country and B) more people are getting it. I mean, the media is merely trying to make it seem like a big issue do to the fact that it ups their ratings. They just want more people to watch their programs. I mean, its just something for people to panic over.

Just a new strain in a myriad of flu strains. As far as symptoms, there is basically none. I guess the age of patient may be a concern with swine flu. Also most flus in humans originate in birds. less so in pigs.

They have the exact same symptoms. Such as fever, coughing, sweating, chills, sneezing, stuffy nose, and etc..
But some people in Mexico, and some places in the US have actually died from it.
But it's usually people in poverty, and poor people.
We will be safe :)

They're same.
They're just worried because it's out of season from the normal flu, blahblahblah .
the people who die are normally people in poverty, and homeless/poor people .
