How do i protect myself from the swine flu?

I don't live in mexico (thank god,)but like im really scared to get it considering there's no cure for it.

I know all the basics like wash you're hands regularly and stuff, but i really don't want to get.

Oh and do you think there its right that egypt is killing all of there pigs?

Also apparently wearing a mask doesn't help/make a difference do you think that's right?

wash hands a lot.
sneeze or cough in a tissue then through it away straight away.
Keep your self healthy.
Pigs do not spread the disease people do so stay away from large crowds.
Masks do not help! Even proper doctors masks only work for five minutes.
there is a cure, if you think you have it (symptoms fever, vomiting, stiff joints) then go to a doctor and get anti viral medians from them. the earlier to Catch it the better.
Don't worry its only big because it is spreading quickly but if your healthy or close to then you have more chance to die from bird flu (for this diseasee there is only a 2% chance of dieing which is actually very low)
Hop I helped x

Don't f*ck pigs from Mexico.

"I don't live in mexico (thank god,)but like im really scared to get it considering there's no cure for it."

Really, so let me get this right. Out of the six BILLION people on the planet, only _22_ have this virus, which amounts to a fairly nasty FLU, and you're worried? Stop.

"Oh and do you think there its right that egypt is killing all of there pigs?"

Well hell if it drives pork prices down go for it. Need me some cheap ribs.

"Also apparently wearing a mask doesn't help/make a difference do you think that's right?"

Well duh, it's not an airborne virus, it's transmitted through contact with things.

try not to go to places that have lots of people for a couple weeks, like the mall, wal-mart, all those nasty places and don't touch your face. if you're not elderly or have a serious immune problem you have nothing to worry about, it's like getting the normal flu from what i heard. plus people die of normal flu all the time, but they are already really weak. so don't worry about it

Well....you can't really do much to keep yourself from getting it except keep away from people who have it, and their germs...so you are right in washing your hands and such...and cover you mouth when you cough and such.

And I think it is wrong for Egypt to order the murdering of all those pigs when the virus isn't even in their country, or know that it is coming exactly from pigs.

Basically... Just wash your hands as often as possible, and defiantly before you eat. Also, try not to touch or rub your eyes. Killing the pigs is not the right thing to do because the virus is being passed from human to human. You don't need to wear a mask. Keep in mind that there are less then 100 cases of the swine flu in the U.S., none of which have been deadly. You don't need to worry yet.

First of all less then 100 people in the US has it, so you probably won't get it, but just to be safe you should wash your hands a lot and when you sneeze or cough make sure that you are doing it in your elbow instead of your hands. You also shouldn't touch your face as much to prevent germs from spreading into your mouth. Hope this helps!

you know what else doesn't have a cure? the regular flu. what aren't you worried about? the regular flu. they're both treatable and the mortality rate is low, chill out

WASH YOUR HANDS ALOT
egyptians killing pigs is stupid because you can't get it from eating pigs
wearing a mask doesn't prevent you from getting the flu it keeps it people who have the flu from spreading it

to protect your self just eat pigs especially the ones that came from Mexico, go to mexico for holiday and visit pig farms,

The egyptians took an extreme action which was not necesary.
I think you should relax, there is a cure for this flu its tamiflu its the same medicine used to treat influenza.
Just keep washing your hands and using purrell.
RELAXX

WASH YOUR HANDS! and stay away from big crowds

Avoid close contact.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay away from hospitals unless you're having an emergency, as hospitals could be one of the likeliest places you could be exposed to swine virus. Avoid visiting any public area unless it鈥檚 really necessary. Wear a mask when in crowded public places and when you go to the doctors. Skip public transportation. The Swine Flu Virus is spread through the air. Any place, such as a bus or plane, that causes you to be confined with others in a small place,

Practice other good health habits.

Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. Wash your hands often, especially before, during, and after preparing food. Before you eat and after going to the bathroom. Use alcohol wipes to clean shopping carts handles, restaurant tables and high chairs.

Get Enough Rest.

Just like it becomes harder for you to get your daily tasks done if you're tired, if your body is overly fatigued it will be harder for it to fight the flu. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress and drink plenty of fluids.

Eat Garlic Regularly

Garlic does more than make our food taste good, it can aid in the healing and even prevention of certain medical conditions. Studies have shown that garlic extract improves immune function, giving our natural defense system a boost, and helping it conserve our levels of antioxidants in our system. It is this strengthening of the immune system that aids in its support for other health related conditions.

Exercise

Exercise increase circulation of blood flow throughout your body. The components of your immune system are also better circulated, which means your immune system has a better chance of combating an intruders before it has a chance to cause havoc in your body. Exercising helps your immune system to be more efficient in weeding out and acting upon viruses and diseases.

Establish a healthy diet plan

Establish a consistent diet plan that consists of all your vitamins and minerals. Add diversity to your diet by way of implementing a variety of fruits, vegetables and other foods to promote general health and well being. Eat about 2 servings of yogurt, preferably the type with special digestive enzymes which promote the growth of healthy bacteria that is needed to aid in a healthy immune system. Green tea is also a world renown supplement which improves metabolic function and increases immunity.
