Who thinks Swine Flu can be the beginning of a horrible disease that threatens to kill millions of people?

I hope it's not one of those diseases in movies always have that millions and millions of people die, and we all have to struggle to survive, and we have to wear gas masks or something!

I hope it doesn't get to a pandemic

H1N1 flu's are descendants of the 1918 pandemic strain. Due to mutations. the flu shot may or may not work, Therefore, there's no vaccine available for this new swine flu. This has instilled fear among the people that millions of people will die before a vaccine can be made.

Regular swine flu is a contagious respiratory disease, caused by a type-A influenza virus that affects pigs. The current strain, A(H1N1), is a new variation of an H1N1 virus which causes seasonal flu outbreaks in humans. It also contains genetic material of bird and pig versions apart from human genetic material. Surprisingly, this version has never before been seen in neither human nor animal.

A few months ago, scientists concluded that the 1918 flu pandemic that killed between 50 to100 million people worldwide in a matter of 18 months, was not due to the flu itself. Instead, they discovered the real culprit was streptococcus pneumoniae infections in which people with influenza often get what is known as a "superinfection" with a bacterial agent. In 1918 it appears to have been Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Streptococcus pneumoniae causes pneumococcal infections and affects children and adults worldwide. S. pneumoniae infects the upper respiratory tract and can cause pneumonia, as well as infections in other parts of the body such as in the bloodstream (bacteremia), lining of the brain and spinal cord (meningitis), bones (osteomyelitis), joints (arthritis), ears (otitis media) and sinuses (sinusitis).

The researchers concluded that, since strep is much easier to treat than the flu using modern medicine, a new pandemic would likely be much less dreadful than it was 91 years ago.

i personally think because so many americans mainly have recently been using tons of like hand sanitizer and basically killing off our immune systems. if we had only washed our hands when really necessary i feel we would be able to fight against the diseases better.

but, that's just my opinion and i don't have medical evidence to back me up. but i don't use hand sanitizer and i almost never get sick and my friends that constantly use it more often get sick then me

Swine Flu didn't just accidentally appear,

The jewish US has problems with Mexico.
1.) Immigration
2.)Drugs

Suddenly this disease pops up in nowhere else but Mexico, not even Canada.

Even a 4 yr old would tell you that's something awry.

I do it looks like it's about to become a pandemic, but it hasent hit here in michigan that I have heard of. I hope it doesnt get that serious though. Kind of reminds me of the movie 28 days later, except that was with zombies.

I do, On television they were saying that the alert was on level five all ready, if it gets to level six that's a pandemic. There was one death reported in texas all ready.

for the freaking last time THIS IS NOT THE GOD DAMN BLACK DEATH. the plague is over and you know what? i think getting 1/4 of our population wiped would be good because we are having over population crisis here(jk)

I think the potential for pandemic is very real... we are overdue. How bad it will get, no one can say.

I hope i don't get swine flu.

that sounds kinda fun.... but idk. nobody knows!! ooooh oooooo!
