Flu.......................?

What the hell is the swine flu????

Its just another form of influenza. The strain that is going around at the moment and seems to have captured every ones attention came from a combination of swine, avian (bird) and human influenza viruses. It has the potential to become a very nasty epidemic or pandemic if it takes hold and starts infecting large numbers of people.

But, unless you have a compromised immune system, you should be okay. Also, the new anti-virals, Tamiflu being one, does help combat the virus once you get it. All you can do is keep your hands spotlessly clean (wash them often, especially if you are touching a lot of stuff that other people touch), don't rub your eyes, nose or mouth when out in public and if you do get sick.....do everyone a favor and stay home until you are well so you don't infect others.

This flu, like all others, will cause pretty severe upper respiratory problems - sneezing, coughing, runny nose, headache, sore throat, etc.

It is a type A influenza virus...
