Will tapering off xanax after 16 years cause body weekness and flu like synptoms and other problems? |
Do you think im cutting back too fast/ I have recently read that you can have all kinds of wierd side effects while trying to come off some drugs like xanax. I suggest you talk to your doctor about the problems your experiencing and do what he suggests. Good luck to you It is tought to get off of. http://www.rxlist.com/rxboard/xanax.pl?n... Ask your pharmacist, they know better than doctors. Are you self-medicating, or has your doctor advised that you start tapering off your doses? If you are having any symptoms or concerns, you should contact your doctor. They will be able to give you real medical advice, and will be able to make sure you get the proper care. I quit cold turkey, and I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. You'll be very uncomfortable for awhile and, yes, you'll experience flu - like symptoms. I had a terrible time trying to sleep - took sveral months before I could sleep through the night. If you can taper off, do so. It'd be easier. Good luck! do it slowly under a doctor's supervision. Also when i came off xaxax i actually felt more energy..i believe it caused me some depression.. So, im glad to be off them. Yes, the symptoms you are describing are common. The longer you have been taking xanax the longer it will take to ween off of it. It should be done under a physicians guidance. It can be dangerous to cut back to quickly. Hope this helps That sounds tough to do. It will probably cause some major anxiety for a couple weeks. It can be done |
