Why are educators not included in the people recommended to receive a flu shot each year?

I teach 2nd grade. The kids sneeze, cough and breathe all over you, especially when they are sick. This week alone I have been exposed to strep and hand, foot and mouth disease. I already got my flu shot yesterday and live in fear of the day that we have to face a flu that doesn't have a vaccine to prevent it. Wash your hands- a lot!! it's an easy way to help stop those flu bugs.

I have never received the flu shots, and I working in an emergency department and in an ambulance for 10 years, and have been in school and practicing chiropractic for the past 4 years. I don't believe in the flu shot. As long as you have a healthy immune system, you will be fine. You might get a cold or flu bug, but that is what makes your immune system stronger, by recognizing these foreign materials and fighting them off. If you are never exposed, your body will not know how to react and the sicker you will be.
hmm, in Canada the flu shot is available free to all school employees, also to all hospital workers.
