Diet for 2 and half child has emesis and loose stool from flu?

If a 2 1/2 year old has both vomiting and diarrhea, they need to be seen by a doctor. A child with that body mass is very susceptible to dehydration. Take your child to your local emergency room. You'll get both medication, and a diet.
Until the vomiting stops, use Pedialyte. Once he or she can keep solids down, start with easy stuff like applesauce or other pureed fruits, then gradually work up through cereals, gradually adding more solid food as tolerated. If they cannot keep the pedialyte down, you may need to take them to the ER for IV hydration. Don't let it go on too long if the vomiting continues.
