Ears how do you unplug your ears from a cold or the flu?

I have a cold or flu and am feeling better butbthe other day I woke with my right ear pluged after using heat it cleared for a day but became pluged again over night how can I clear it

Get a strong nasal decongestant. Your ears are connected to your sinus cavities and are plugged because you have mucus in all of your sinus cavities (at the side of your nose, above your eyebrows and the base of your skull) and it has nowhere else to go.
try:
yawning
chewing gum
drinking hot tea
Try getting ear candles from a health food store, if you can't find them there, do a search for them online. They work great!!
All of the above (Really increase fluids)
also steam/shower - do a nice hot long shower with a lot of steam - and a sudafed -

Also if you can't get the ear unplugged try a little warm peroxide in the ear for one minute.

If none of the above help you may have a lot of fluid in your ears and a nice bunch of drops or a 'script from your MD is the real trick.

Feel better!
