About GERD can someone with knowledge please answer? |
Ok if I truly have GERD wouldn't the same foods trigger it all the time? Like why would it be that if I have the same diet and eat the same amounts wouldn't it stand to reason that it isn't my "diet" making me sick? Like for instance I eat a bagel for breakfast(with cream cheese) and water .......... lunch I might have 2 slices white bread with 2 slices ham with no condiments ........... supper maybe grilled chicken and steamed peas. I can eat this every day but about once a week or so it makes me sick. I just don't understand at all. I stay away from nuts ..... seeds ....... popcorn .... popcorn makes me sooooooo sick! I don't eat fried foods and lost aproximately 50lbs in the last year. I have chronic diarrhea ...... malabsorption .......... Can someone please explain? Thanks!! Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease, (GERD,) is not necessarily caused by the foods you eat. It can be simply due to the lack of tone to the cardiac sphincter at the top of your stomach that allows stomach acid to reflux into your esophagus causing pain. Sometimes it takes at least a month for the meds to really take affect and if they dont help th... What he needs is an upper GI or an esophageal scan to see if he has an hital hernia. What I would suggest is his diet, Metamucil for roughage and either pep-to-bismal or something for his...
