Symptoms of gerd or acid reflux? ayone who had it?

i don't get alot of heartburn....what i get is more of indigestion ,and nausea, that comes with my face feeling hot....is zantac or prilosac good if i have the nauseas indigestion? are these symptoms of gerd? thanks for any help

Yes they are symptoms of GERDS. I never did have heartburn at first, but I was constantly very nauseous. I had a lot of difficulty swallowing. Some days my symptoms were worst than others, I finally when to see my Dr. who put me on prilosec for about 14 days. It worked at first, but after I stopped taking it, my symptoms returned. I was sent to a Gastroenerologist who took a biopsy and made my GERDS worst, I mean really bad. I then went to see a Nutritionist who helped my change my eating habits (what to eat and what not to eat) I was told mint of any kind (peppermint, spearmint teas, lifesavers or gum, chocolate and caffine, stay clear of it!) One of the things I decided to do for myself was buy a juicer, I would juice 1/2 fresh pineapple and a good chunk of fresh peeled ginger together everyday. Somehow this combination soothed my GERDS, my symptoms diminished a great deal I can now drink coffee again for one thing. One thing you want to take note of is, what triggers your symptoms. and stay clear of that, until your condition improves. I do hope this helps.

Not acid reflux.

Indigestion is a symptom of heartburn, just because you don't' get the burning sensation in your chest and esophagus doesn't mean that you don't have heart burn. I get gas and have a hard time swallowing. These are all various symptoms of GERD and I take prilosac every day to keep it at bay. But I think that my having to take various other medications including pain meds contributes to my having GERD's.
