Heart problem, or just plain ol' GERD? really worried.?

I have short little pains every now and then, on the upper-left-middle side of my chest && in my left arm && up in my back.
I went to my doctor about, three-four weeks ago, and she said it was acid-reflux. She said my heart sounded fine, and my blood pressure is absolutly "perfect". She prescibed Prevacid to me, & it does work, but i still get pains every now and then.
I'm probably worrying about it WAYYY too much, but i'm just
TREMENDOUSLY worried that i'm gonna have a heart attack or somthing awful like that :(. i'm a 15 yr old female, by the way.

the first organs in your body that will shut down when you are in heart failure is your digestive track - so if you are experiencing reflux, that is a sign of heart failure. I know this b/c i went through this with my newborn - and they knew she had a heart condition when she was born -
Congenital Heart Defects/Congenital Heart Disease is America's #1 Birth Defect and is too often undetected until there is a really bad problem or when it's too late. Now, I am not trying to scare you, but perhaps you should go to your local Children's Hospital in your closest big city's medical center - they will be the best aquainted with detecting a CHD.
Now, this could just be anxiety - and you do have a muscle behind your heart that when you experience pain there it can seem like it's your heart - try not worry yourself too much, just make sure you write down a description of what is going on whenever you experience an episode - that way when you go to your Dr. they see how diligent you are being about your concern and how aware you are of your body and what is going on with it - good Dr's love that!!! And you are your #1 advocate - while it is not good to get carried away, it is good to make sure you are being heard and understood by your Dr and not being blown off. your mind is your best asset, be smart about your body. As long as your lips or eyelids are not blue, you're not sweating when you eat or play, don't get out of breath easily and aren't throwing up severely, you are probably ok - but if any of those things happen go to your nearest ER and make them take an x-ray of your heart and/or give you an echocardiogram.

i have acid-reflux too amd i have been to the ER and they always give me a heart agram just to make sure its not my heart cause heart disease runs in my family. i have chest pains too which is the acid- reflux. but i dont like the pain going to your arm. please get a 2nd opinon. more than likely its just the acid- reflux. let us know what you find out. good luck..
