Does gerd can cause sinus tachycardia and chest pain?
Definitely. I am not sure how familiar you are with human physiology, so I will try to explain it in layman's terms. The body produces many different kinds of chemical messengers (a.k.a hormones). A chemical messenger can cause a group of symptoms. GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease) causes pain. The pain radiates outward and causes chest pain. The body responses to pain by releasing 2 chemical messengers: norepinphrine and epinephrine. These chemical messengers increase the heart rate (i.e. sinus tachycardia). Other effects include increase in blood pressure. i know for sure GERD does cause very uncomfortable chest pain almost mimicing a heart attack if it severe enough but the sinuses i am not sure of i have GERD and take prilosec prescription strength and i have some sinus problems but they are due to allergies and benedryl helps with that
