Anxitey, gerd, heart attack, noone knows maybe you do?

hey all. For the past 5 days I鈥檝e have hade really intense chest pains. The pains are usually in the center of my chest (like exactly in the middle) It feels like someone is sitting on my chest or I鈥檝e gotten something stuck in my throat. The pain sometimes radiates from my arm to my jaw to my back. I also get sharp pains on the left side of my chest including my under arms and ribs!!!!!! Again this has been constant non-stop for 5 days. I鈥檝e been to the doctor and the ER within the 5 day span and both sent me away saying its anxiety. I鈥檝e had stress tests, EKG鈥檚 chest x-rays and a few other tests in the past and all are fine. Noone has an answer to what i have. Please help me!! I honestly feel like im going to die. P.S my doctor says its probably not gerd because the pressure and length of pain im describing do not coincided with gerd

ANGINA PECTORIS???

* angina pectoris is a condition characterized by chest pain that occurs when the muscles of the heart receive an insufficient supply of oxygen.

The pain is usually experienced under or to the left of the sternum (breastbone) and radiates to the left shoulder and down the upper arm; less frequently, it spreads to the right shoulder. The attack usually subsides without residual discomfort and, when precipitated by physical exertion, is quickly halted when the subject rests. Often the attacks are separated by weeks, months, even years in which symptoms subside. Symptoms usually begin after the age of 50, more often in men than women, and frequently follow physical exertion, excitement, eating, smoking, or exposure to cold. Associated symptoms are faintness and difficulty in breathing.

better seek second opinion.
with something like that... you should go back to the ER... so they can at least get some relief, some kind of medication
You should definitely get a second opinion. I would change doctors.
What you're describing sounds like a panic attack. I know it feels like you're going to die, but you're not. It'll pass. The key to getting through it is to remember that. I know it's hard, but try to breathe deeply (it should feel like you're breathing down into your toes).
I'm not a doctor, but I can tell you from my own experience I have had the same problem. My problem is anxiety. I have been getting panic attacks for a couple of years now and because my heart races so bad I get chest pains. I had to go to the emergency room recently and get an EKG but they told me that all I could do was relax.

Hope this helps.
See the sections on anxiety and panic at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on pages 6 & 8.
Sounds like you have had second opinions by what you describe and plenty of tests. As much as it hurts it sounds like a panic attack. Just like the docs said, anxiety. Time to start learning how to bring it down and researching it. It can be done and I wish you the best of luck. I know it is scary. Anxiety and the attacks are not in your head, they do come across very physically.
